Paris – Spring 2014 snapshots

We went to Paris last weekend. I took some pictures. These are the snapshots.

I didn’t bring my 5d2; I wanted to travel light and I had no idea what to expect re: the security situation. Shooting within the limitation of the (still quite capable) G15 helped me look for better shots, time them better and generally think about the photograph more than the gear. The images are acceptable, though even at ISO200 they seem very noisy to me. I ran all these snapshots through Nik Dfine and Nik Sharpen and there are some weird artifacts in some of the out of focus areas, but I’m OK with that. My biggest impression of France, as a photographer, is that it doesn’t have a very big palette, the light is nice this time of year, and the Seine at night is stupidly easy to photograph.
