I recently purchased the Canon 70-200 f/2.8II. I don’t really have anything to say about the lens that hasn’t been said a million times already; it really is that good. I can’t believe a tele is so sharp through it’s entire range. I also understand why it’s been nicknamed “the mortar”; it’s not an insubstantial piece of kit. My body, the lens and a 580EXII tip the scales at 3.55kg (that’s 7 pounds 12.96 ounces for you colonists) – not exactly the right setup for walking around all day.
I haven’t had the opportunity to take it outside yet, but I’ve been shooting the hell out of the cats. Of course. Monkeyface, as always, is excited when the camera comes out and always breaks out her professional looks. Vettel is either vaguely disapproving or vaguely confused by what’s going on.
